Tamil Nadu class 12th result has been announced early in the morning today on the official websites of the board - tnresults.nic.in, dge.tn.nic.in, dge1.tn.nic.in & dge2.tn.nic.in.
Students who had appeared in the Class 12 exams this year can check their marks on the official websites mentioned above. All the websites will provide the Tamil Nadu HSC result. Not only through the official websites but students can also view their results on third party websites like - examresults.net.
As per estimates, 91.3 % students have passed the TN HSC exams this year. Girls have once again outshone the boys this year with a total 93.64 %. The boys pass percentage is 88.57 %. Additionally, the top 3 districts include Tirupur with overall pass percentage of 95.37 %, Erode with 95.37 % and Perambalur at 95.15 %.
Last year, the pass percentage for TN Class 12 exams was 91.1 %. 87.7 % boys while 94.1 % girls had cleared the exams.
This year, nearly eight lakh students gave the HSC or class 12 exams that were held from 1 March to 19 March 2019 by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations. In the previous year, 9,82,097 students had appeared for the TN HSC or Class 12 exams.
Required passing marks
As per the Tamil Nadu School Education Department, in order to pass the exam, a student has to secure at least 30 marks out of 150 in the theory test and 40 marks out of 50 in the practical papers.
In addition, the state education board has decided to hold an instant test for all those students who were not able to clear the exam or obtain the minimum passing percentage. This test will be held in the month of June –3 June to 10 June 2019.
