Tomar Inaugurates 29th Regional Workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras of MP & Chhattisgarh

Agriculture is a vast and challenging field that will be passed down from generation to generation. All KVKs and agricultural scientists have made and will continue to make significant contributions to the country's agricultural development.

Referring to the Central Government's schemes for farmers, Tomar stated that the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is nothing short of a boon for farmers, and that every farmer should take advantage of it. Under this scheme, farmers have received compensation totaling Rs 1.24 lakh crore over the last six years.

The Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, inaugurated the 29th Regional Workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh today in Morena, Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Tomar stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants people to be drawn to agriculture and that this encouragement has been extended to scientists and farmers alike. Our agricultural landscape in the world is in good shape.

India is an agricultural country, and we are a unique nation in terms of food productivity. While discussing farmer interests, he stated that the farmer is now fully aware.

He stated that agriculture is a vast and challenging field that will continue to work from generation to generation. All KVKs and agricultural scientists have made and will continue to make exceptional contributions to the development of agriculture in the country.

Furthermore, Tomar stated that it is the responsibility of our agricultural scientists to find solutions to various agricultural challenges. Tomar stated that because of the progress made under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, many countries around the world are now discussing agri-food issues with India. Our country has long been a world leader in agricultural production, milk production, and food processing, and it continues to do so.

Abhay Mahajan, Organization Minister, Deendayal Research Institute, Chitrakoot, Vice Chancellor Prof. SK Rao, RVS Agricultural University, Gwalior, Vice Chancellor Prof. AK Singh, RLBK Agricultural University, Jhansi, Dr. V.P. Chahal, ICAR's Deputy Director General (Agriculture Extension), and others spoke on the occasion. Senior agricultural scientists and other officers from 81 KVKs in MP and Chhattisgarh attended the program, including Dr. Y.P. Singh, Dr. D.P. Sharma, Dr. Ajay Verma, and Dr. S.S. Tomar.
