Realizing the importance of people’s health, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission to provide a digital health ID to the people who will hold their health records. This mission has been brought by the National Health Association (National Health Association/NHA).

What is Digital Health ID?

The facility of National Health ID has been started to maintain health records at one place. You can link all your past health records to Health ID. Additionally, anyone can be connected to other digital health programs, such as video consultations and other health-related digital services.

How to Get Digital Health ID?

  • You can generate Health ID by providing some basic information with the help of a mobile number or Aadhaar number.

  • Self-registration has to be done by downloading the NDHM Health Record Application from the Health ID web portal or Google Playstore.

  • To generate a health ID from a mobile number, Name, Year of Birth, Gender, Address, and Mobile Number have to be mentioned.

  • For information, let me tell you that Aadhaar is not mandatory for health ID. NDHM will soon bring such features, which can generate health ID through other ID documents such as PAN card, driving license, etc.

Is it necessary to have a Health ID?

Let me tell you that it’s not mandatory to make a National Health ID. From this, one can choose the option to generate voluntarily. You can opt-out of this NDHM ecosystem whenever you want. And the user can permanently delete or temporarily deactivate his health ID to leave this facility.

What happens if you forget the password?

Suppose if you forget your health ID password, you can log in through mobile OTP or Aadhaar card-linked mobile OTP. After that, you can create a new password. If you still face a problem, you can mail to ndhm@nha.gov.in. Apart from this, you can contact on toll-free number 1800-11-4477 / 14477.

Is Medical Data Safe?

If all your medical data will be stored in the Health ID card, then the question is bound to arise whether this data will be completely safe. Information has been received from NDHM about this that no data will be shared without your permission. Through this health ID card, the doctor can see your data only once. If you go to the doctor again, he will have access to you again.
