Due to the heavy rainfall alert issued in Uttarakhand's flood-prone regions, schools in the affected areas will remain closed. Students and parents are advised to get in touch with school authorities for additional information regarding the closure.

The weather in Uttarakhand has been deteriorating, prompting an alert from the India Meteorological Department. As a result of the severe conditions, schools located near flood-prone regions will be shut. Media reports indicate that the district education department has declared the closure of schools in areas near water bodies affected by the rain.

The closure of schools and Anganwadi Kendra will continue because students need to cross a river to reach their educational institutions. Parents and students have been instructed to get in touch with their respective schools for any additional updates regarding the holiday.

Uttarakhand faced severe impacts from heavy rains on Saturday, with reported landslides and cloudbursts in certain regions. IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert from July 29 to August 1, 2023, specifically for the Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Uttarkashi districts of Uttarakhand.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has raised an Orange alert for Dehradun, and the continuous rainfall has led to a significant rise in river water levels, resulting in unfavourable conditions. Citizens have been advised to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary outings. Additionally, waterlogging in various areas has caused traffic congestion.

Bikram Singh, the Director of the Meteorological Centre, has announced a yellow alert due to the anticipation of heavy rainfall across many areas in the state for the next three days. The meteorological department has also warned about the possibility of landslides in sensitive areas, which may lead to road and highway blockages.
