Weather Update: Western Disturbance in North India to Bring More Snow & Rain

A fresh Western Disturbance (WD) over north India could bring more snow and rain today. In Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, moderate to heavy snow or rain is likely. Uttarakhand may experience isolated snow. The WD will follow an eastward trajectory and gradually weaken.

However, cloudy conditions are likely to prevail in Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh. Other regions in the north, central and northeastern India will be blanketed by isolated dense fog and rest of the country is predicted to remain dry.

Over northern Punjab and most of the northeastern states, maximum temperatures will be a bit lower than normal, owing to northwesterly winds. Though, conditions will be warmer than normal in the south. Night-time temperatures in northern India will be average or warmer than normal.

The air quality in major cities across India, especially in Delhi, will be on a downward spiral. The quality of the air will remain under the poor to very poor category.
