The environmental revolution has been in the works for nearly four decades, and it has forever altered how businesses operate. While it began with corporations denying their impact on the environment, the majority of companies have now accepted their responsibility to protect the environment.
Products and manufacturing processes are becoming cleaner, and the environment is improving where this change is taking place. More and more businesses in developed countries are "going green," realizing that they can reduce pollution while also increasing profits.
The responsibility of saving the planet has shifted from corporations to governments. It is finally time to put the net-zero goals into action. Only two countries have met their target so far, while others have pushed it to 2030 or later. India has pledged to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070, and the government's commitment is visible, with India achieving 40% of its power capacity from non-fossil sources by 2021, 9 years ahead of the target.
To support higher and more inclusive economic growth, sustainable use of available natural resources is required. Each country is required to develop and implement environmental and forestry policies and programmes aimed at conserving the country's natural resources, including lakes and rivers, biodiversity, forests, and wildlife, ensuring animal welfare, and preventing and mitigating pollution.
World Environment Expo 2022 (WEE 2022) is a step in this direction, organized by the Green Society of India and Indian Exhibition Services with the support of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, and the United Nations Environment Programme. On World Environment Day, the World Environment Conference (WEC 22) with the theme "Save Nature - Save Future" would be held. (It is worth noting that Krishi Jagran is an official media partner of the Expo.)
WEE 2022 is a business platform that will bring together Indian and international environmental technology and equipment manufacturers and suppliers to showcase the latest innovations in environmental protection, services, renewable energy, waste management, sustainable buildings, water management, new innovations, and energy efficiency. Exhibitors will be able to show off their innovations and technologies to potential collaborators and policymakers, as well as connect and network with other entrepreneurs.
Exhibitors from the United States, Germany, Belgium, France, Japan, Korea, Canada, Sweden, the Netherlands, and other countries will attend the event. The main goal of the expo is to raise environmental awareness, demonstrate the use of technology for environmental protection, conduct research and development for new environmental protection technology, and provide environmental businesses with business opportunities.
