Life of Kushendra Kumar Singh, a farmer of village Salwa in Meerut district has completely changed after adopting polyhouse farming. For this, he took advantage of government scheme.

It must be noted that the UP government is continuously promoting agriculture and other agricultural activities in the state. The farmers are getting the benefits directly.

Even marginal farmers of Meerut are taking advantage of this. Kushendra Kumar Singh is an example of this. He built a Polyhouse on June 18, in which he is cultivating Gerbera flower. The cost of this project is about 59.50 lakhs.

The government gave him a grant of Rs. 29.08 lakhs. Kushendra got profit of 50 thousand rupees per month in the first year itself whereas in the third year he sold five lakhs flowers within two months.  Kushendra told he inquired from the officials of the department about the Polyhouse scheme operated by the Horticulture Department.

He told that in the first year the sales of flowers were 19 lakhs. Out of which a loan cover of Rs 70 thousand per month and 50 thousand per month was spent. A net profit of about Rs 50 thousand per month was also received.

Encouraged by the Polyhouse system, he has set up another Polyhouse, in which rose cultivation is planned. Kushendra gives the credit for his success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He added that Polyhouse farming will help in doubling the income of farmers.
