Jharkhand Initiates Probe into Alleged Misuse of Farmers' Aadhaar Cards for Micro-Irrigation Scheme
The Jharkhand government has taken swift action to investigate the alleged misuse of farmers' Aadhaar cards in parts of the state. The issue came to light when farmers from various blocks reported that their Aadhaar cards had been misused or that they were unknowingly enrolled in the Centre's micro-irrigation scheme called "Per Drop More Crops."

Mango Mela in Bengaluru Faces Declining Visitors Due to Lack of Publicity
The Mango Mela, which was held at the famed Lalbagh Botanical Garden by the Horticulture Department and the Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation (KSMDMC), did not draw the expected audience. In response to farmer requests, officials have decided to extend the mela by 10 days till June 21.

PAU Non-Teaching Staff Continue Protest, Initiate Fast Unto Death
As the protest by Punjab Agricultural University's (PAU) contractual non-teaching staff entered its 106th day on Thursday, the protesters have taken the extreme step of initiating a fast unto death. The protesters accuse the university administration of failing to regularize their positions despite over a thousand vacancies remaining unfilled since 2009.

TN Agri Minister Announces Cultivation of Kuruvai Paddy in 5 Lakh Acres across Delta Region
The Kuruvai paddy cultivation is anticipated to witness significant growth as it is expected to cover an area of 500,000 acres in the Cauvery delta districts this year. This optimistic projection was revealed by MRK Panneerselvam, the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, during a media interaction in Thanjavur. The minister had chaired a consultative meeting with farmers from the delta districts to discuss the upcoming water release from the Mettur dam. Minister Panneerselvam attributed the recent surge in Kuruvai paddy acreage to the dedicated efforts of Chief Minister Stalin, who introduced initiatives such as the Kuruvai Special Package.

Cotton Market Anticipates ‘Stability’ as MSP Witnesses 9% Surge
Cotton prices, which have experienced a significant decline of over 25% in the past eight months, are expected to stabilize following the government's decision to raise the minimum support price (MSP) for the commodity for the 2023-24 marketing season. The MSP has been increased by nearly 9% compared to the previous year.
