  • IMD Predicts heavy Rains in these states till 30th August

    On 26thAugust (Thursday) the India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in many states till 30th August. IMD said that the rainfall activity over the Northeast India is likely to continue till 27th August (Friday) & some regions may witness extremely heavy falls in the next two days. There will be widespread rains along with isolated heavy falls is likely to continue over the Northeast India, West Bengal, Sub- Himalayan & Sikkim till 27th August (Friday).

  • UP to Drop Crop Burning Cases against the Farmers

    India’s most populous state will drop the legal proceeding against the farmers accused of burning crop waste, a major source of the pollution as the ruling BJP Party tries to placate the growers ahead of elections next year to the state assembly. This happened when some states have stepped up the punishment for crop residue burning to avert an expected spike in the air pollution, which brings smog every year during low temperature of the winter.

  • Land Acquisition Bill of Anti-Farmers Promotes Crony Capitalism

    On 26th August (Thursday) Former Haryana Chief Minister & Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda slammed the government of Haryana for passing the Right to Fair Compensation & Transparency in the Land Acquisition, Resettlement & Rehabilitation Bill alleging that many of its provisions are ‘Anti Farmer’ & promoted crony capitalism. Hooda said that the new law passed by Haryana government disregards the consent of landowners in the process of acquisition of the land & is against the farmer’s welfare.

  • National Green Tribunal Court Raps UP Pollution Board

    The National Green Tribunal rapped the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board for delay in submitting the report on specific liability of the industries on sewage discharge, which is containing the toxic chromium into Ganga at Rania & Rakhi Mandi in Kanpur. The NGT Chairperson Head said that more than 6 months have passed & the UPPCB has not passed any order on the subject on specious.

     

  • Ginger Farmers to Stare at an Uncertain Future

    The uncertainties in market triggered by pandemic have cast a pall over thousands of farmers who have cultivated the ginger in Wayanad & parts of Karnataka. Besides, the low demand for the produce & crop diseases are the reasons for poor prices. A sharp fall in the export to Bangladesh & very few enquiries from the north India has contributed to the crisis.
