  • Government targets 3-fold Increase in Domestic Palm Oil

    The government set the ambitious target for more than three-fold increase in the domestic palm oil production from current 3 lakh tonnes to 11 lakh tonnes by 2025 - 2026, to reduce India’s high dependence on the import of edible oil. To accelerate the production & cultivation of palm oil in the country. The government will put a special focus on North East & Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

  • India’s crude oil import bill increases to over 190% at $24.7 billion in Q1

    India’s crude oil import bill soared nearly threefold in the first quarter of fiscal (Q1FY22) fueled by the sharp rise in global oil prices, further raising concerns for the policymakers. The import of fuel oil totaled about $24.7 billion in three months ended 30th June, compared with $8.5 billion in a year earlier. The growth of volume was however, modest at 14.7% in June quarter at 51.4 million tonnes.

  • India’s Tea Industry to expect better Second Quarter

    The tea industry of India is expecting a better second quarter as retail demand has picked up across the country with easing of Covid – led restrictions in most states. The planters have said that good monsoon rains will give a boost to demand in the rural areas where tea is the main beverage.

  • Government to Change Policy for Import of Pulses

    The traders who have imported about 15,000 tonnes of pigeon pea stuck with the procedural issues related to the ‘time of export’ after government changed its policy for import of pulses from ‘restricted’ to the ‘free’ category. These importers warehoused the goods in free trade warehousing zones even before 15th of May, the government notification changing the category to ‘free’.

  • Congress MP Manickam Tagore to move adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha

    On 6th August Friday, Congress MP Manickam Tagore moved an adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha to discuss the conditions of a farmer, who have been protesting on border of the national capital since 26th November last year against three newly enacted farm laws & to direct the government to repeal anti-farmers legislations.

  • ISRO to launch Earth Observation Satellite EOS-03 in Coming Week

    The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle- F10 (GFLV-F10) will be launched the earth observation satellite, EOS-03 from Second Launch Pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota on 12th August 2021. The Bengaluru-headquartered Indian Space Research Organization said that ‘The launch is tentatively scheduled at 0543 hrs IST on 12th August 2021, subject to the weather conditions.
