Centre Buys 368.7 Lakh Ton Kharif Paddy at MSP for Rs. 69.612 Crore

An official statement said, “About 39.92 Lakh farmers have already been benefitted from the continuing KMS purchasing operations with MSP value of Rs. 69,611.81 Crore.” Paddy procurement at MSP (Minimum Support Price) has increased by 22.5% to 368.7 Lakh Ton, Rs. 69,612 Crore, the Government buys crops at its MSP from the farmers.

Paddy buying process is going on smoothly in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarahand, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

According to an official statement, the continuing KMS (Kharif Marketing Season) 2020-21 started form the October. Paddy procurement at MSP (Minimum Support Price) has increased by 22.5% to 368.7 Lakh Ton, Rs. 69,612 Crore, the Government buys crops at its MSP from the farmers.

Purchased by FCI at MSP Value

FCI, Food Corporation of India and State Agencies have purchased 368.7 Lakh Ton of paddy till the date, which was 300.9 Lakh Ton last year.

An official statement said, “About 39.92 Lakh farmers have already been benefitted from the continuing KMS purchasing operations with MSP value of Rs. 69,611.81 Crore.”

About other Crops

Procurement operations of Kapas (seed cotton) under MSP is also going on smoothly across the states of country. Statement said, “Till December 10, 45,53,977 cotton bales, costing Rs. 13,332.58 Crore has been procured benefitting 8,87,517 farmers.
