Farmers in the Yadgir district have been warned by the Agriculture Department to only buy sowing seeds such as green gram, red gram, and cotton from authorized dealers.

Abid, the department's Joint Director, claimed in a statement that the district has received adequate rain, encouraging farmers to engage in agricultural operations such as planting in prepared land. Farmers should thus acquire sowing seeds from authorized dealers or shoppers and demand a money receipt as proof of purchase.

"There's a chance that unknown people from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Maharashtra would come to your village to offer loose sowing seeds," Mr. Abid said. If such a person is found, farmers should contact the officials listed below immediately and join forces with the department to prevent such operations, they advised.
