Kisan Credit Card: Keeping in mind the welfare of farmers who play the most important role in anagrarian country, the government has initiated Kisan Credit Card Scheme in India. Under this scheme, a farmer can get Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and avail loans with lowest interest rate. Kisan Credit Card is given to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Farmers get many benefits through this card. In addition to the loan at a cheaper rate, the insurance amount is also given to the farmers through this card. This provides easy loan for fertilizer, seeds etc.

What are the other Benefits of KCC?

In addition to the cheap loan through the Kisan Credit Card, the farmers are provided cover under the accident insurance scheme.

Get this much insurance: 

In case of death, the cardholder's family gets Rs 50,000.

  • Rs 50,000 can be claimed in case of permanent disability

  • In case of loss of both limb or both eye or one limb and one eye, the cardholder gets Rs. 50,000.

  • Rs 25,000 in case of damage to one limb or one eye

Loan is provided without guarantee: 

Farmers are given loans up to Rs 1.6 lakh without guarantee. At the same time, short-term loans of up to Rs 3 lakh are given in 5 years. Whose interest rate is 4 percent (repayable before time).
