Now Farmers Can Buy Cow and Buffalo With Their Credit Cards; Know How

Till now we used to buy TVs, mobile phones, fridges and gadgets with our credit cards but from now onwards cow, buffalo and other animals can also be purchased from it. As per latest news reports, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Fisheries Minister, Jay Prakash Dalal said that Haryana has become the very first state in India that is providing 'Pashu Kisan Credit card' (Animal husbandry Credit Card) to promote animal husbandry and agribusiness in the state.

As per latest news reports, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Fisheries Minister, Jay Prakash Dalal said that Haryana has become the very first state in India that is providing 'Pashu Kisan Credit card' (Animal husbandry Credit Card) to promote animal husbandry and agribusiness in the state.

The First Pashu Kisan credit cards in the country were distributed to around 101 animal farmers in Bhiwani district in Haryana. Jay Prakash Dalal was present with the Chairman of Haryana Animal Husbandry Development Board, Somvir Sangwaan during the occasion. Government of Haryana has set a target to issue ten lakh Pashu Kisan Credit cards by the end of March 2021.

What is Pashu Kisan Credit card

Under the yojana,  banks will give Rs 60249 for a buffalo and Rs 40783 for a cow.  The credit amount for sheep and goat each is Rs 4063. In the case of a pig, the amount is Rs 16337. And for Hens, it is Rs 720 per layer & Rs 161 per broiler hen.

Dalal also launched Animal Registration, Pashu Gyan Ganga and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Animal Money Insurance Scheme.

The minister said that agriculture and animal husbandry business will be made job-oriented, for this, youth will be given training in skill development in horticulture as well as animal husbandry. This will also help the youth of the state get employment in developed countries. Dalal said that agriculture and animal husbandry will be modernized on the patterns of developed nations.

He further said that the central and state government is trying to double the income of farmers in Haryana. For this, various schemes and programs for farmers and livestock farmers are being effectively implemented. The minister added that dairy farming and horticulture training will be imparted to more than five lakh farmers in the state to make animal husbandry and agriculture business profitable.

He requested the livestock farmers to utilize the amount received from the Pashu Kisan Credit Card.
