Training Programmes on Dairy Reproduction organized by GADVASU

Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organized two training programmes on “Reproductive Management of Dairy Animals” under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna at village Manupur and Kotala of District Ludhiana.

Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organized two training programmes on “Reproductive Management of Dairy Animals” under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna at village Manupur and Kotala of District Ludhiana. A total of 49 dairy farmers participated in the training programmes.

Dr R K Sharma, Prof cum Head made the farmers aware of the importance of balanced nutrition by which optimal reproductive efficiency can be achieved. He emphasized that proper reproductive management of dairy animals is the need of the hour. He also discussed about the problem of repeat breeding in cows and its effective management. Dr Khushpreet Singh coordinated the trainings and also discussed the various reproductive problems of dairy animals. He also highlighted tips for getting maximum results following artificial insemination.

University literature was distributed free of cost under this scheme with the view for keeping the knowledge of the farmers updated. Mineral mixture bags and uromin licks were also distributed to the beneficiary farmers free of cost as start-up kits. The farmers showed great enthusiasm for getting these kits. The various inputs provided to the farmers will help them in the easy adoption of recommended practices.
