On the second day of the virtually held FAI’s Annual seminar 2021, Alzbeta Klein the Director of IFC and Global Head of Climate Business gave her views on “World Supply and demand of Fertilizers and Raw Materials”.
While talking about the important role fertilizer plays in the productivity of crops she touched on major topics like food security and world hunger. She also brought out various facts and figures and enlightened the audience on how the affordability and availability of Fertilizers have been affected due to the supply chain disruptions that the world is currently facing after Covid.
These views on affordability and availability were mirrored by her fellow panellist Mike Nash in his speech on International Price Trends of Fertilizers and Fertilizer Raw Materials
Alzbeta Klein’s speech covered how geopolitical factors like US sanctions on Belarus and Chinas restriction on its exports of Fertilizers along with Physical and Economic factors like the weather and increasing costs of Raw materials have led to the lack of availability and affordability of fertilizers for farmers all over the world.
This speech that could be said to be the quintessence of her knowledge on the current scenario on the World supply and demand of fertilizers is something that only someone of her stature who has worked to facilitate business growth, climate-smart agribusiness, green bonds and green loans, smart cities and other climate business areas can give.
The second day of the annual seminar held by FAI was a huge success and industry leaders gave views on the current state of the fertilizer industry on both national and international scales.
Indian Fertilizer Industry leaders like Gaurav Mathur and S. Sankarasubramanian also gave the government suggestions on how to improve the Agriculture industry on various fronts like Urea management, phosphatic industry management and even Water Management Issues.
Day 2 of the FAI annual seminar was focused on Challenges faced by the Indian Agriculture sector and solutions on how to mitigate them.
