Andhra Pradesh’s Education Minister Botcha Satyanarayana ensured the State government's strong commitment to enhancing the profitability of farming and ensuring a decent livelihood for farmers. He went to attend an event at Fort Junction in Vizianagaram on Friday.
He highlighted the government's initiatives to supply agricultural machinery and tools at subsidized prices, aiming to alleviate concerns among farmers regarding labour shortages in rural areas. In this context, he personally presented selected farmers with machinery and agricultural equipment worth Rs15.2 crore as a part of the YSR Yantra Seva Pathakam program.
Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the advantageous nature of the scheme, whereby a group of farmers was required to contribute a mere 10% of the total amount, while the remaining funds would be arranged through a combination of bank loans and subsidies.
He further highlighted that 310 farmers' groups had already benefited from a subsidy amount of Rs 9.34 crore. Vizianagaram Collector S. Nagalakshmi, in turn, stated that extensive awareness about the scheme's benefits had been disseminated to farmers through Rythu Bharosa Kendras.
In the presence of YSRCP MLC Indukuri Raghuraju, Vizianagaram Mayor Vempadapu Vijayalakshmi, District Cooperative Marketing Society chairperson Avanapu Bhavana, and other dignitaries, Minister for Revenue Dharmana Prasada Rao distributed agricultural machinery and tools to eligible farmers in Srikakulam.
During the event, Minister for Revenue Dharmana Prasada Rao announced that agricultural machinery worth Rs37.36 crore had been allocated to 328 custom hiring centres. He expressed his belief that the successful implementation of the YSR Yantra Seva Pathakam would greatly benefit farming activities. The presence of Srikakulam Collector Shrikesh B. Lathkar and other officials was noted at the occasion.
