The Bihar Agricultural University (BAU) has recently launched an innovative radio programme, called 'Radio Revision', aimed at enhancing students' academic performance and providing access to agricultural education.

The initiative is the first-of-its-kind in the country and has been designed to benefit not only the students and researchers but also other stakeholders. The programme has been launched with the aim of developing state-of-the-art educational facilities and providing an outcome-oriented learning environment at the BAU.

The newly appointed BAU vice-chancellor, D R Singh, stated that the community radio station, 90.8 FM Green, has conceptualized the Radio Revision programme to aid students in gaining agricultural knowledge and preparing for examinations in an effective and efficient manner. The hour-long summary of the topics taught during the academic semesters will be broadcast in the evening hours each day before the examinations, making it a useful tool for students to revise and refresh their knowledge.

Apart from the benefit to the students, the Radio Revision programme can also be accessed by all interested agricultural students and knowledge seekers across the country through the internet radio. The programme is an excellent opportunity for people who are looking to learn about agriculture, irrespective of whether they are located in the university or outside it.

The programme is not only limited to academics but also caters to the needs of farmers, rural women, and youth, creating awareness on a wide range of topics, including health, hygiene, agri-production technologies, etc. In-charge of the community radio station at BAU, Shridhar Patil, stated that the programme was already serving the needs of farmers and rural women, and this initiative would further serve the educational needs of agricultural students, inside and outside the university, and across the country.

Bihar's Agriculture Minister, Kumar Sarvjeet, also visited the campus and lauded the Radio Revision initiative of the BAU. Director Extension Education (DEE) RK Sohane also lauded the initiative and called for similar programmes to educate farmers about climate change and its mitigation.

With the availability of the programme through internet radio, it is a tool that can be utilized by all interested individuals across the country. This initiative not only provides an academic benefit to the students but also caters to the needs of farmers, rural women, and youth, thereby creating awareness on a wide range of topics.

The Radio Revision initiative is a step towards the development of state-of-the-art educational facilities and providing an outcome-oriented learning environment at the BAU.
