The Telangana government has taken tough measures to combat the sale of forged seeds, arresting 551 people and filing 347 cases so far.

Cases were filed under the Preventive Detention Act against 16 people, and 11,872 quintals of forged seeds were seized from their possession.

The officials in charge should take steps to ensure an effective link between industry and agriculture, in addition to ensuring campus recruitments for agricultural university graduates.

The State government had formed a steering committee led by the Chief Secretary to promote agri-startups and food processing units as part of efforts to provide farmers with technology support, and the officials involved should take appropriate action.

Santhi Kumari, on the other hand, emphasised the importance of further progress in the horticulture sector and the need for farmers to cultivate vegetables.

She expressed concern about reports of the supply of bogus edible oil and requested that the officials in charge promote the products marketed under the Vijaya brand in order to avoid such incidents.

Cotton cultivation received equal attention, resulting in the state ranking third in the country in terms of production. She recalled how the government's proactive policies ensured that the goal of cultivating over one crore acres was met.

Steps such as the introduction of Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima, as well as the provision of 24x7 uninterrupted power supply, ensured massive paddy cultivation, with the state ranking second in the country in this regard.
