According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure region is emerging above the southern Andaman Sea, which is expected to develop into a cyclonic storm around May 6th. For the upcoming few days, the surrounding areas are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfalls.

On Monday, RK Jenamani, an IMD senior scientist, said about the circumstances in Andaman, that the system in Andaman is going to build on May 4. From May 6, onwards a low-pressure system will form, which will subsequently intensify into a cyclone. He further added that the IMD has issued a warning to the people residing in Southern Andaman and the Bay of Bengal's surrounding territories. They have also requested the respondents not to go there since there are signs that the system may become more intense. They've mostly requested fishermen to refrain from fishing.

Over the next 4-5 days, no heatwave conditions are expected in the northwest, central, or east India, according to the weather service.

Next 4 Days Weather Forecast

Heavy precipitation is projected over the Nicobar Islands on the 4th and 5th of May as a result of the cyclonic storm, while heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over the Andaman Islands on the 06th and 07th of May as a consequence of the cyclonic storm.

Meanwhile, scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is anticipated over the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana over the course of the next 5 days attributed to wind discontinuity throughout peninsular India at lower tropospheric levels.

Heavy rain is also expected over Kerala-Mahe on the 4th and 5th of May, as well as Tamilnadu-Puducherry-Karaikal on the 6th.

Light to medium rainfall is forecast over Northeastern India and West Bengal-Sikkim over the next 5 days owing to southwesterly winds coming from the Bay of Bengal. On the 4th and 5th of May, severe rainfall is very likely over Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland-Manipur Mizoram-Tripura.
