Cyclone Alert in Odisha & Neighbouring Areas; More Rainfall Likely in These States

Pre-monsoon activity is predicted to be visible today over Delhi and the surrounding areas. Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Rajasthan are among the states.

Rainfall has been observed in parts of North India, especially in the hills and some parts of the plains. Shimla also received a whopping 50 mm of rain. Manali, Qazi Gund, Ambala, Patiala, Sri Ganganagar, and other areas received mild showers.

Pre-monsoon activity are predicted to be visible today over Delhi and the surrounding areas. Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Rajasthan are among the states. These Pre-monsoon activities may reduce tomorrow, but certain areas might expect a few thunderstorms and rainfall periods.

Following that, on May 6, these activities will be greatly reduced, and may even cease during that time. Due to this spell, temperatures in most parts of North India have remained cool, with temperatures in the high 30s.

On Wednesday, heavy rain gave much-needed relief from the sweltering heat in several parts of India. Hailstorms hit areas of Delhi earlier in the day, and rain was recorded in a few places. Residents in Hyderabad and other regions of Telangana, on the other hand, experienced waterlogging and submerged streets as a result of the downpour.

The temperature in Jammu and Kashmir had dropped due to widespread rain and thundershowers. According to an IMD official, the weather will remain erratic through Thursday due to a western disturbance.

Fishermen Warning:

The Andaman Islands will receive heavy rainfall at isolated places on the 5th and 6th of May and heavy to very heavy rain on the 6th and 7th of May as predicted by IMD.

5-6th May: Stormy weather with wind speed will be reaching 40-50 kmph and can go up to 60 kmph over the South Andaman Sea and the adjoining Southeastern Bay of Bengal.

7th May: Squally weather as wind speed will be reaching 45=55 kmph and could keep going to 65 kmph over the Andaman Sea and the adjoining Southeast and East-central Bay of Bengal.

8th May: The wind will take up more speed reaching going from 55-65 kmph up to 75 kmph over the Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast and East-central Bay of Bengal.

Cyclone Alert

Odisha is on high alert as a cyclonic storm has formed over the South Andaman Sea and its adjoining areas. The state government has asked all the district collectors to remain alert considering the possibility of a cyclone in Odisha in the next four days.
