Karnataka CM Bommai stated at the inaugural ceremony of Mega Dairy in Gejjalagere on December 30 that the State has experienced a white revolution in milk production and dairy development. Karnataka has contributed significantly to the milk revolution.

According to Bommai, Mandya district is an agriculture-dependent district that is also known as a sugar and paddy land, but it still requires irrigation facilities and industries. The MySugar factory was established in the government sector to benefit farmers.

"Programs for tail-end farmers of the Visvesvaraiah irrigation canal are being developed and will be approved within a week," he said.

Dairying, according to the Chief Minister, will play a critical role in comprehensive farming, so much attention has been paid to it. "During the Yediyurappa government, the practice of giving an incentive to farmers was started and now Rs 5 per litre is paid to farmers. Despite several challenges, the sector is moving forward. The Gejjalagere plant has a capacity of one lakh litres of milk," he explained.

Bommai stated that at a time when farmers' lives were uncertain, Prime Minister Narendra Modi separated the Ministries of Cooperation and Agriculture to bring certainty to their lives.

The Ministry of Cooperation has grown in power and is poised for a revolution. He stated that efforts are being made to implement numerous reforms in this field.

"Former Prime Minister HD Devegowda established Bengaluru's first mega-dairy, which cannot be forgotten. It began in Bengaluru and has since spread throughout the country. The mega-dairy produces milk, processes it, packs it, and manufactures other products on its own.

"The Milk Unions of Karnataka are making significant contributions to the Prime Minister's dream of 'Atma Nirbhar,'" added the Chief Minister.
