World leaders from the G20 nations successfully concluded a summit in India, resolving significant differences related to the Ukraine conflict. They produced a consensus document and committed to addressing important issues, including reforms of institutions like the World Bank. Additionally, they officially admitted the African Union to enhance the group's inclusiveness.

During the G20 Summit, countries such as India, the United States, UAE, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, and the European Union signed an MoU to establish the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. President Biden lauded this as a transformative regional investment, emphasizing that it encompasses more than just infrastructure development. On social media platform X, Biden proudly announced the historic agreement on the new corridor, which involves the United States, India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, France, Germany, Italy, and the European Union.

G20 Summit: Prime Minister’s Meeting With The President Of Brazil

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil had a meeting during the G20 Summit in New Delhi on September 10, 2023. President Lula extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Modi for India's successful G20 Presidency. In response, Prime Minister Modi expressed his best wishes for Brazil's upcoming G20 Presidency and assured Brazil of India's complete support.

The discussions during the meeting centred on enhancing the India-Brazil Strategic Partnership, particularly in areas like bio-fuels, pharmaceuticals, agro-based industries, space, and aviation. A Joint Statement was issued at the end of the meeting.  

Prime Minister’s Meeting With President Of The Republic Of Türkiye

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey during the G20 Summit in New Delhi. They discussed opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, defense, security, civil aviation, and shipping between their countries. President Erdogan commended India's G20 Presidency and expressed gratitude for India's swift assistance during the Turkiye earthquake in February 2023, under Operation Dost. Additionally, he congratulated Prime Minister Modi on the achievements of the Chandrayaan Mission and extended best wishes for the upcoming Aditya Mission to the Sun. 

Prime Minister’s Meeting With Chancellor Of The Federal Republic Of Germany

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany met during the G20 Summit in New Delhi on September 10, 2023. They discussed the success of India's G20 Presidency and Germany's support during this period. Additionally, they reviewed the progress in their bilateral Strategic Partnership, exploring opportunities for cooperation in various fields such as defence, sustainable development, critical minerals, skilled personnel mobility, and education. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, and Prime Minister Modi invited Chancellor Scholz to India for the next round of the Intergovernmental Commission in the coming year.

Prime Minister’s Meeting With President Of The European Council And President Of The European Commission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during the G20 Summit in New Delhi. They praised India's successful G20 Presidency and discussed various aspects of the India-EU Strategic Partnership. Topics included the upcoming India-EU Summit, ongoing Free Trade Agreement negotiations, addressing climate change and LiFE initiatives, digital technology cooperation, and the Trade and Technology Council (TTC). Additionally, they talked about the newly launched India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor and stressed the importance of its swift implementation, with a focus on potential solar projects. 

India-France Joint Statement

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron met at the G-20 Leaders' Summit in New Delhi on September 10, 2023, affirming their robust partnership based on trust, shared values, and global stability commitment. They pledged to collaborate on regional and global issues, echoing the sentiment of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (one Earth, one family, one future). Discussions spanned defence, space, nuclear energy, digital infrastructure, climate change, education, and Indo-Pacific cooperation. Both leaders highlighted their joint efforts in the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure. Macron praised India's Mission Chandrayaan 3 success and emphasized space collaboration, while also addressing nuclear projects and India's Nuclear Suppliers Group membership.

Both leaders committed to enhancing defense cooperation, with a focus on developing advanced defense technologies in India for potential export to the Indo-Pacific region. They called for the swift finalization of the Defence Industrial Roadmap. Cooperation in digital technology, science, innovation, education, culture, health, and environmental initiatives was stressed, aiming to strengthen institutional connections. Cultural exchanges and museum development were also emphasized. Prime Minister Modi thanked President Macron for France's support in India's G-20 leadership and highlighted India and France's cooperation for Africa's progress and development after the African Union's inclusion in the G-20.

Prime Minister’s Meeting With The President Of The Republic Of Korea

During the G20 Summit in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea met. President Yoon Suk Yeol congratulated Prime Minister Modi on India's G20 Presidency and commended the Chandrayaan mission's success. They recognized that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between their countries. The leaders discussed advancements in their Special Strategic Partnership, including trade, investment, defense production, semiconductors, and electric vehicle battery technology. Additionally, they talked about regional and global issues.

India-Brazil Joint Statement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil met in New Delhi during the G20 Summit to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between their countries. They emphasized strong bilateral ties based on shared values and common goals, including peace, cooperation, and sustainable development. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the Brazil-India Strategic Partnership and their roles in global affairs. They expressed satisfaction with the progress made through institutional dialogues.

Prime Minister Modi of India and President Lula of Brazil expressed support for each other's bids for permanent seats on an expanded United Nations Security Council (UNSC), aiming to enhance its efficiency and inclusivity. They emphasized the significance of sustainable energy, especially biofuels and flex-fuel vehicles, in reducing carbon emissions, and celebrated the formation of the Global Biofuels Alliance during India's G20 presidency. Both leaders pledged to address climate change within UN frameworks, collaborate on climate action, and expand joint projects related to renewable energy and disaster-resilient infrastructure in other nations.

During their meeting, Brazil and India reaffirmed their commitment to global sustainable agriculture and food security, emphasizing the need for reliable food supply chains. They welcomed Joint Technical Committees to facilitate agricultural trade. Both nations recognized the potential for increased economic exchanges and pledged to expand their trade agreement. In the defense sector, they applauded cooperation and encouraged joint projects. They expressed satisfaction with the India-Brazil Social Security Agreement. The leaders also celebrated space achievements, the 20th anniversary of the IBSA Forum, and supported UN Security Council reform and G20 collaboration, including a G20 troika comprising IBSA countries during Brazil's presidency.
