The state government has exempted 10-year-old diesel tractors in the National Capital Region (NCR) till 2025, according to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. "Tractors will be free from restrictions on 10-year-old diesel vehicles in the NCR until 2025." A bill was also introduced to keep a system for using processed wastewater to preserve raw water. The water department's rate will fix its rate," the CM stated.

On the 14th of March, the BJP-JJP government in Haryana introduced a bill in the Haryana Assembly  exempting tractors from the Central Government's restriction on the plying of diesel vehicles older than 10 years in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma said the Haryana Laws (Special Provisions) Amendment Bill, 2022, has been introduced in the ongoing Budget session of the Haryana Assembly with the financial situation of farmers in mind. Later in the session, the Bill will be addressed.

"It is necessary and expedient to extend the validity of the Act until June 30, 2025, in light of the farmers' financial situation and the ban on the operation of 10-year-old diesel vehicles in the NCR, including specified agricultural vehicles, and in accordance with the orders of the Supreme Court (SC) and the National Green Tribunal (NGT)," Sharma said.

Sharma, on the other hand, said that several policy concerns and support for phasing out the specific agricultural vehicles from the NCR will be finalised between now and 2025.

The NGT had previously stated that diesel vehicles older than ten years would not be permitted to operate in the NCR, causing concern among thousands of farmers in the state.

The restriction was imposed due to rising levels of air pollution in the city, which were hurting people of the city and the surrounding NCR districts.
