KVS Admission 2022: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has recently issued new admission guidelines for KVS Admissions 2022 for Classes 1 to 12. According to KVS admissions 2022-23, a student in Class 1 must be at least 6 years old on March 31st of that academic year and not more than 8 years old on March 31st.

"Children born on April 1st should also be taken into account," the guidelines state. For all parents, students, and others, the KVS admission guidelines have been issued on the official website - kvsangathan.nic.in. Children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic are also eligible for admission under the updated admission guidelines.

The child must, however, have attended a CBSE-affiliated school and have received at least 55 percent aggregate marks in the previous class. KV kids who were sent to a deputation to a foreign country with their parents can be allowed to KV classes upon their return by the respective principal.

KVS Admissions Revised Guidelines 2022

The KVS admissions guidelines for 2022 do not impose an age limit on students seeking admission to class 11th if they apply in the same year that they passed their class 10th test. Similarly, there is no age limit for admission to class 12th for students who have not had a break since graduating from class 11.

In the case of differently-abled children, the principal of the involved school may provide a 2-year age relaxation on the maximum age limit.

The amended admission guidelines also allow children orphaned as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic to be admitted over and above the class strength under the PM CARES for children scheme. From Classes 1 through 12, the students will be exempt from paying fees.

KVS Admissions Revised Guidelines Reservation Policy 2022

According to the KVS admissions guidelines for 2022-23, around 15% of seats are reserved for students from the Scheduled Caste (SC) community, and 7.5 percent for students from Scheduled Tribes (ST) (ST). Meanwhile, 27% of seats are set aside for students from the Other Backward Classes non-creamy layer (OBC-NCL). According to the Kendriya Vidyalaya admissions criteria, "3% of total available seats for fresh admission would be horizontally reserved for Differently Abled-children as per the provisions of the RTE Act, 2009."

ICSE and NIOS Students to be Considered for KVS Admission Now

Students from other boards, including state boards, ICSE, and NIOS, will be considered for KVS admission in class 11 in 2022-23 only if there are vacancies. Similarly, fresh admissions to classes 10 and 12 would be evaluated based on vacancies, with the exception of KV students.

However, the child must have attended a CBSE-affiliated school and have received at least 55 percent aggregate marks in the previous class. KV kids who were sent to a deputation to a foreign country with their parents can be allowed to KV classes upon their return by the respective principal.
