Schools Closed In Lucknow, Classes Up To 12th Grade Cancelled Due To Heavy Rainfall

Lucknow schools are closed for Classes up to 12th grade after an official notice was issued by the District Magistrate due to heavy rainfall. Here is what IMD says.

Lucknow Weather: Due to the substantial rainfall, schools up to the 12th grade in Uttar Pradesh have declared a holiday. The District Magistrate of Lucknow has issued a notice stating that schools will be closed today due to ongoing rain. It is recommended that both students and parents be aware of this decision.

Concerned for the safety of students and staff, the District Magistrate of Lucknow has been closely monitoring the situation. Reports from the Meteorological Department warned of heavy rain and lightning. In response to the ominous weather conditions and the Meteorological Department's warning, the District Magistrate issued an official notice. "In view of the warning of heavy rain with lightning issued by the Meteorological Department and the bad weather in Lucknow for the last few hours, all the government/non-government/private schools up to Class 12 of all the boards in all the urban and rural areas of Lucknow district, today, September 11, 2023, Monday, is declared a holiday."

The notice went on to emphasize the importance of adhering to the order and directed everyone to verify its authenticity on the district website, www.lucknow.nic.in. Meanwhile, in the neighbouring district of Champawat, a similar scenario was unfolding. The District Magistrate there, also concerned about the rain, decided to declare a holiday for Classes 1 to 12. 

Not to be outdone, the District Magistrate of Uddham Singh Nagar, witnessing the weather turmoil in neighbouring districts, followed suit and declared a holiday for Classes 1 to 12.
