To empower farmers with the knowledge to improve the farming sector, honour them for their accomplishments, and create awareness in every agricultural landscape of northern India, the 'MFOI, VVIF Kisan Bharat Yatra' has embarked on its journey, making notable stops in Sonipat and Panipat. Mahindra Tractors' commitment is evident with its executive's presence at all locations, strengthening the collaborative effort.
Sonipat - First Stop
The Yatra's inaugural stop was at Jhundpur village in Sonipat, where it kicked off its mission to traverse remote areas. From there, the journey proceeded to KVK, Jagdishpur, affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar. The presence of the KVK head and Subject Matter Specialists added an enriching dimension to the experience, creating a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
Moving forward, the Yatra reached its third destination, Aterna village, where the team from Krishi Jagran had the privilege of encountering Kanwal Singh Chauhan, a renowned baby corn farmer.
Such encounters provided a unique opportunity to delve into the practices and experiences of a successful farmer, contributing valuable insights to the Yatra's mission.
Panipat - Second Stop
Panipat became the next focal point of the Yatra, with stops at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ujha, and Jhattipur village. The National Horticulture office in Panipat hosted a gathering of over 30 farmers, while Jhattipur saw the participation of 25-30 farmers. The primary objective was not only to disseminate knowledge about MFOI but also to facilitate a forum for farmers to share their experiences and challenges in Haryana's agriculture sector.
Honouring Farmers with MFOI Awards
During these stops, the Yatra took the opportunity to honour progressive farmers with the MFOI Awards for their contributions to the agricultural community. Dr Shardul Sankar, the Horticulture officer, played a crucial role in supporting and coordinating the gatherings, underscoring the collaborative spirit of the initiative.
Looking ahead, the 'MFIO, VVIF Kisan Bharat Yatra' is set to embark on more such visits, promising to uncover the rich tapestry of agricultural practices, innovations, and challenges across northern India.
