NITI Aayog has introduced the Techno-Commercial Readiness and Market Maturity Matrix (TCRM Matrix) framework, a significant step towards promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. Part of the NITI Working Paper series, this revolutionary assessment tool is set to transform technology evaluation, spur innovation, and fuel entrepreneurship in India.

Building upon well-established technology assessment frameworks like Technology Readiness Level (TRL), Commercialization Readiness Level (CRL), and Market Readiness Level (MRL), the TCRM Matrix provides a comprehensive assessment model for stakeholders throughout the technology development cycle.

The working paper offers practical guidelines for integrating the TCRM Matrix into India's broader innovation ecosystem, empowering policymakers, strategists, academics, and investors to drive positive change. Its adoption requires careful analysis and customization based on India's unique national and sectoral innovation landscapes.

Dr. V.K. Saraswat, Member (Science & Technology) of NITI Aayog, emphasized the framework's significance, stating that it marks a crucial milestone for India's innovation and entrepreneurship landscape. By providing a robust assessment tool, the goal is to inform decision-making, enhance technology commercialization prospects, and position India as a global leader in innovation.

Jointly authored by experts from NITI Aayog, the working paper showcases their collaborative efforts in crafting a framework that can profoundly impact India's innovation landscape. The Government of India, through NITI Aayog, remains committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. The release of the TCRM Matrix working paper exemplifies the government's ongoing efforts to drive technological advancements and economic growth.

This framework is expected to play a pivotal role in catalyzing India's innovation ecosystem and creating a conducive environment for transformative ideas.
