PM Kisan App: The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has unveiled the highly anticipated PM Kisan App, incorporating an advanced face authentication feature. This latest addition aims to simplify the e-KYC (Know Your Customer) process for farmers, ensuring a more seamless, expedited, and transparent experience.

The launch event was graced by the presence of union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhary, Secretary, of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India and several other representatives from across the nation.

The PM Kisan App, developed in alignment with the government's vision of leveraging technology to empower farmers, is set to revolutionize the way farmers complete their e-KYC procedures. With the inclusion of face authentication, farmers can now conveniently verify their identities using their unique facial characteristics, eliminating the need for cumbersome paperwork and physical visits.

On the occasion of the launch event union, Agri minister said "Farmers can now easily avail the benefits of the PM-KISAN scheme through the PM Kisan mobile app. In a move to ensure the reach of the PM-KISAN scheme to the beneficiaries, the Indian government has taken a significant step forward. With the introduction of the PM Kisan mobile app, farmers can now conveniently access the benefits of the scheme through their mobile phones.

Additionally, Minister of State Kailash Chaudhary earnestly appealed to all state representatives to ensure the inclusion of a greater number of farmers within the ambit of the PMKISAN Scheme prior to the distribution of the 14th installment.

Manoj Ahuja attributed the success to a collaborative effort by the team and announced that the app would also provide farmers with a chatbot feature to address their inquiries.

The PM-Kisan app has lined up several advancements to empower farmers. Firstly, it will be integrated with a feature that allows responses to be provided in the farmer's native language, enhancing accessibility and understanding. Additionally, the app will introduce a time-saving and convenient feature that eliminates the need to manage physical documents, streamlining the process for farmers. These developments aim to enhance the user experience and make the PM-Kisan app more user-friendly for farmers.

What is PM-Kisan Yojna?

The PM-Kisan Yojana, also known as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, is a government initiative that provides minimum income support of up to Rs 6,000 per year to small and marginal farmers. This scheme, with a budget of Rs 75,000 crore, aims to benefit 125 million farmers across India, regardless of the size of their landholding.
