As Aadhar card is the most important document to each & every citizen of India, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) the issuing body of Aadhar card has reduced the price for Aadhar card authentication by giving a big relief to the customers.

UIDAI Reduces Fee

UIDAI has reduced the fee from Rs 20 to Rs 3. The Unique Identification Authority of India believes that with this people will get the benefit of special schemes being given by the government. Also, this fee has been changed to provide ease of living to people through the benefits and to enable institutions to take advantage of their infrastructure.

UIDAI CEO Saurabh Garg said that there is an immense potential to leverage Aadhar in the fintech sector. “We have reduced from Rs 20 to Rs 3 per authentication & the aim is to ensure that various agencies, entities are able to harness the power of digital infrastructure.

He said that till date more than 99 crore e-KYCs have been done using Aadhar system. “I think it gives fintech companies a cost-effective & non-unacceptable solution to add new customers,” said Garg.

UIDAI Did This Change

Earlier, UIDAI has announced some changes, under which the cardholders, who do not have a mobile number registered with the Aadhar card, can download their Aadhar card from the official website. According to UIDAI, this facility will also help those cardholders who do not have a mobile phone or computer to download the documents.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) issued several orders to implement KYC procedures. The DoT said the reforms have been brought in to digitize KYC processes and make customer acquisition completely online.

Online service delivery has become an accepted norm in recent times & most of the customer services are being offered through internet with OTP authentication. The Department of Telecom said in a statement, there is a need to promote the contactless services for the convenience of customers & ease of doing business in the post-Covid era.
