Weather Alert: IMD Predicts Rain along with Thunderstorms in Several Parts of India; Detailed Forecast Inside

Weather Report: For the next several days, there will probably be heavy rain along India's west coast. The west coast will likely continue to see heavy rains over the next five days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Central and northwest India may have moderate rainfall until June 25.

Areas Expecting Rainfall in India

The IMD, in its weather bulletin, said, "Fairly widespread/ widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Kerala & Mahe and Lakshadweep and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall likely over Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during next 5 days."

Over the next few days, it is also quite possible that there will be isolated places of severe rain in the Konkan and Goa, Gujarat region, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe.

Up till June 26, Madhya Maharashtra's ghat regions will see severe downpours. On June 25 rain is expected across interior Karnataka, and on June 24 rain is expected over coastal Andhra Pradesh. Over the next four days, there will be a few isolated cases of very heavy rain in Konkan and Goa.

Over the course of the next five days, rain is also expected in northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. The Meteorological Department reported, "Over the next five days, isolated areas of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to see heavy rainfall. Between June 25 and June 27, isolated, extremely heavy rainfall is also possible over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal."

Over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and Gangetic West Bengal, the IMD predicted rain and thunderstorms. On Friday and Saturday, Vidarbha may have a few isolated, heavy rainfall.
