Weather Alert! Thunderstorm, Hail in Delhi over Next Two Days

Thunderstorms along with hail are expected over the next two days in Delhi. The temperature shall see a dip, it shall go down below the lowest recorded 5.2° C.

The minimum temperature for the day has been four degrees below the normal. The capital is expected to see light rains accompanied with thunderstorms and hail in the next few days in Delhi. As per the India Meteorological Department, dense fog is very likely especially at isolated places.

System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) recorded the overall air quality of National Capital Region as ‘very poor’ with Air Quality Index (AQI) of 266 around 12:30 pm on Wednesday.

Dense fog has led to delay of trains in the NCR. The expected maximum temperature for the next two days is 20° C.

Cold waves and rainfall is seen in many parts of North Delhi. The weather department has said that the higher and middle regions of the hills will experience heavy rain and snowfall, while the low hills and plains will witness thundershowers from January 30 to February 1.

As per, these rains are considered to be unseasonal for the region. Rabi crops that include Wheat and Mustard are at standing stage presently, and any spell of squally winds and hailstorm can prove fatal for the crop as it shall deteriorate the grain quality.
