Weather Update: IMD Issues Heavy Rain and Cold Wave Alert in These States for Next 4-5 Days

Due to continuous snowfall in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, there is a cool atmosphere in the plain areas of North.  After drizzle in the some parts of Delhi, Haryana and Punjab, people are feeling chilling cold. Apart from this, due to the cyclone prevention which hit the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry late in the night, heavy rains and strong winds are going on.

Delhi weather: Cold will increase in the capital in the coming days

Cold is expected to increase in the coming days in Delhi-NCR. On Wednesday, some areas may experienced mild drizzle and winds increased the cold. According to the Meteorological Department on Thursday, it is expected to be cloudy and light rain throughout for next two days. According to the department, the temperature may fall on 27 November and 29 November. Although the sky was clear on Wednesday, the minimum temperature in the capital was 10.4 ° C and the maximum temperature was 24.4 ° C.

Moreover, the Depression over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh & neighbourhood moved northnortheastwards and weakened into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area & lay centered over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal at 0530 hrs IST of 27th November, 2020.

Under its influence,

(i) Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy falls at isolated places is likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 24 hours.
(ii) Fishermen are advised not to venture into Westcentral Bay of Bengal and along & off south Andhra Pradesh coast during next 12 hours.

Due to likely fall in minimum temperatures over northwest India, Cold wave condition at isolated places likely over Punjab during 27th & 28th; Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi during 28th and North Rajasthan during 28-30 November.

Possible cold in Uttar Pradesh

There is a chance of severe cold in the coming days in Uttar Pradesh. Due to the drop in the minimum temperature in the last two days, the level of cold may increase. Prayagraj recorded a minimum temperature of 10.4 and a maximum of 26.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. At the same time, the situation is similar in Varanasi. Meanwhile, cold wave has increased in many districts of West UP. Due to snowfall in the mountains and western disturbances, cold levels will increase in the next four-five days in several districts including Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Hapur, Baghpat, Noida and Bulandshahr.

Many districts of Haryana are still expecting rain

After rain on Wednesday in Haryana, the situation is expected to remain the same on Thursday. There is a possibility of cloudy and drizzle throughout the day. According to Dr. Madan Khichad, Head of Department of Meteorological Department, Haryana Agricultural University, the wind direction will change after Friday afternoon. Later in the afternoon, the wind will move from north to west, which is currently moving towards the east. Due to this, the day temperature will increase due to cloud cover from the sky. So at the same time, due to icy winds, cold will increase and night temperature will also fall.
