Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, a farmer's union, issues a press release shortly after Mamata Banerjee's landslide win in the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021. The farmer union and farmer's strike, which were involved a few months ago, now seem to be back in place, according to the press release.

The election results, according to the press release, are the culmination of farmers' and laborers' frustration and suffering. The farm leaders will now accelerate their campaign, according to the study. The farmer's union's use of the term "intensify" implies that they will not leave the land and will continue their strike until the Centre meets their demands.

While it is unclear how much the farmer protests influenced the assembly elections, the result would undoubtedly encourage protesters to continue their agitation against the central farm laws.

Despite the fact that the farmers' unrest has been centered mainly in Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Rajasthan, farm union leaders have organized many protest meetings in election-bound states. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a coalition of farmer organizations that led the demonstrations, organized the most public meetings in West Bengal, urging people to vote against the BJP.

Farmers leaders strategically allied themselves to support and vote for non-BJP political parties since the left-wing All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) is one of the Morcha's main constituents. “The impact of farmers' protests on the election results in West Bengal can be seen. While announcing the results, Avik Saha of Jai Kisan Andolan said, "The rural areas voted against the BJP."

If the uprising succeeds, Morcha leaders will try to use the blueprint in the 2022 assembly elections in main agrarian states including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. The government, on the other hand, might try to find a way out.
