IMD Predicts Reduction In Rainfall Activity In Uttarakhand
The India Meteorological Department has predicted no rainfall activity in Uttarakhand for the next 3 days. However, isolated to scattered rainfall might occur over the state on 23rd October. The significant reduction in the rainfall activity is likely over Uttarakhand along with isolated to scattered snow over Himachal Pradesh on 22nd – 23rd October, & isolated to scattered rainfall over Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana & Northwest Rajasthan on 23rd October.

Gujarat To Harvest High Record Groundnut Crop
The Industry Body Solvent Extractors Association of India pegged groundnut production of Gujarat, the top producer of oilseed at 38.55 lakh tonnes up by 8.74% than the previous year. The production is up mainly due to the normal to excessive rainfall during the months of August & September and the absence of significant crop damage.

Delhi Government To Pay Rs 50,000 Per Hectare
On 20th October (Wednesday) the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal announced that the state has decided to provide the compensation of Rs 50,000 per hectare to the farmers whose crops have been damaged due to the unseasonal rains. He further said that the sub-divisional magistrates & district magistrates are conducting the surveys which will be completed within 2 weeks, following which the farmers will get compensation in their bank accounts within 2 months.

Constant Rains Hurt Soya bean Farmers of Telangana
As it has regularly over a span of around 40 days, the farmers in erstwhile Adilabad district have suffered heavily. They are not eligible to claim the insurance for damaged crops because the state government has not adopted Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme. In the district of erstwhile about 2.1 lakh acres of soya bean was cultivated by the farmers who hoped to get a bumper crop.
