Turkey & Syria Urgently Needs Agricultural Assistance After Deadly Earthquake, says FAO
Two 7.8 magnitude earthquakes struck the region nine hours apart, killing over 45,000 people, injuring thousands, and damaging tens of thousands of homes. The UN agency has expanded its operations in both countries in order to monitor the damage to food production and value chains and identify necessary interventions. According to ground reports, many of these homeless have been going hungry in relief camps while dealing with the brutal cold with little access to basic amenities like heating or gas.

Nitish Kumar to Meet Farmers on the 4th Agriculture Road Map
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to hold consultations with farmers on the implementation of the fourth agriculture road map in the state. The event, organized by the agriculture department, is expected to be attended by more than 4,700 farmers, and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Agriculture Minister Kumar Sarwjeet are also scheduled to be present.

Chhattisgarh’s Maiden Millet Café Empowers Women, Promotes Coarse Grains.
A self-help group (SHG) member Rohini Patnaik never anticipated that millennials would enjoy millet- based foods like pizza or manchurian. The coarse grains, which were long thought to be inexpensive, have a new identity thanks to Chhattisgarh's Millet Mission Cafe, and they aim to give women more economic power. The state’s first Millet Cafe in Raigarh city was set up with the initial support of the district administration and is now run by members of a women SHG. The cafe has now turned profitable, claim SHG members Veena Miri and Rameshwari Yadav.

Farmers Protect Wheat Crop Amid Risk of Another Heat Wave
As the weather gets hotter, farmers have become vigilant to protect their crops. The threat of a sweltering heat wave like the one in 2022 seems imminent in India and farmers are wary about it. The heat wave, along with the discomfort and general unease that it created, also closed off India’s wheat exports last year. The biggest wheat-growing regions of the country are facing unusually warm temperatures in February, which has created panic among wheat growers. Wheat is sensitive to heat and the plants are reaching maturity and near-flowering, making heat a very triggering factor.

Ladakh Soon to Be the Biggest Exporter Of Agri Products to Delhi & Neighboring States: says Dr Ganai, VC SKUAST-Jammu
Dr. Nazir Ahmad Ganai VC at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology (SKUAST) Jammu visited KJ Chaupal on February 22 to discuss the progress of crop cultivation in Jammu. He spoke about the issues that an Indian farmer face throughout the process of farming beginning from the start to the end. He also talked about how Indian farmers fall into debt traps that lead them to kill themselves. The vice-chancellor of SKUAST thanked the members of Krishi Jagran and spoke on many important issues related to agriculture. Apart from this, he praised the efforts that Krishi Jagran is constantly making in the field of agriculture for the past 2 decades.
