  • Cabinet approves highest FRP for the Sugarcane farmers

    The Union Minister, Piyush Goyal, while addressing cabinet briefing on 25th August (Wednesday) said that the fair & remunerative price for the sugarcane has been increased to Rs 289 per quintal for 2021 to 2022, which will be based on 10% recovery. In the recovery is less than 9.5% then farers will be given Rs 275 per quintal?

     

  • IMD Predicts heavy to heavy rainfall in Many States till 29thAugust

    The India Meteorological Department forecasted widespread rains along with isolated heavy to very heavy falls are likely to continue over the Northeast India, Sub Himalayan, Sikkim, and West Bengal till 27th August (Friday). The India meteorological department said that rainfall will reduce after Friday wil isolated heavy falls over the region.

     

  • Centre buys record of Rs 874 lakh tones of Paddy at MSP of Rs 1.65 lakh crore

    The Centre has procured a record of Rs 873.68 lakhs tones of paddy so far in 2020 to 2021 marketing year ending September for nearly Rs 1.65lakh crore. The paddy procurement has reached at an all time high level, surpassing the previous high of Rs 773.45 lakh tones in Kharif Marketing Season 20219 to 2020. Around Rs 129.03 lakh farmers have already been benefitted from ongoing KMS procurement operations with MSP value of Rs 1,64,951.77 crore.

  • Centre eases norms for import of 1.2 million tonne GM soya cake

    The Centre on Tuesday (24 Aug) relaxed norms for import of 12 lakh tonne of genetically modified crushed & de-oiled soya cake that is used as livestock feed. According to the commerce ministry, the move will benefit farmers, poultry farmers & fishermen in a big way.

  • Srinagar gardeners upscale preparation for next year’s Tulip garden festival

    The gardeners of Srinagar have upscaled their preparation for next year’s Tulip garden festival . A gardener at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip garden at Cheshmashahi in Srinagar, Nazir Ahmad said that ‘As of now we are harvesting the seeds of the ones, which we have sown. We do harvesting, winnowing. Threshing & storing activities to make these tulip bulbs bloom. We keep them protected till next season. Again, we prepare the flower bed for next season & this process continues over the year. The officials have highlighted the importance of protecting this garden & lauded the preparations done by gardeners for upcoming Tulip festival which held in Srinagar.

     

  • Govt to hike pension payout for the families of deceased PSB bankers

    The Family members of the deceased PSB bankers will not get the pension of 30% of the last drawn salary as against earlier Rs 9,284 announced Department of Financial Services secretary Debashish Panda on 25th August (Wednesday). Government also hiked the Public Sector Banks contribution for the employee pension under the NPS to 14% from 10% earlier
