Exports of Non-Basmati Rice more than double this year
India is exporting more than double non-basmati rice compared to what it exported last year. This will provide moral boost to the farmers especially those near the ports and coastline. All safety is being applied while exporting of these w.r.t. the Corona Pandemic.

Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI)
This scheme is intended to improve the Food Processing Industry in India. This scheme will focus on the items, that can be improved and according to the demand in the market. This scheme will popularize Indian products around the world, focus on generation of employment for Indians and work towards providing right price to the farmers for their produce. This scheme will last 6 years and will support manufacturers or traders that fall under its chosen categories.

Wheat procurement at brisk pace under MSP
Wheat procurement has been going at a brisk pace across Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP, MP and other states with 292 LMT of wheat having been procured. More than 28 lakh wheat farmers have benefitted from this MSP scheme so far.

Parts of Maharashtra and Telangana to receive heavy rainfall
Some districts across Maharashtra and Telangana will receive rainfall with thunderstorms. Jagatsinghpur in Odisha and east Sikkim are also expected to see heavy rainfall.

Rahul Gandhi has tweeted that wrong decisions by the Indian Government are the reasons for the inability of India to control Corona Virus. He believes that now total lockdown is the only solution to the problem, which may have been controlled much earlier with right government policies.

Biosecurity package to protect Agriculture in Australia
Australian prime minister will announce a 371 Million Dollar package for Biosecurity in agriculture. Under this package investments will be made to fight pests and diseases in crops. Farmers believe that hundreds of billions could be lost in a single outbreak and hence have welcomed this package.

‘Moorhen Yoga Mat’ made from water hyacinth
6 village girls, residents of villages near Deepor Beel lake have developed the technique to produce mats from water hyacinth, which cover large part of the lake affecting its ecosystem. Producing mats out of water hyacinth will reduce the population of water hyacinth.

Used Cooking Oil converted to Biodiesel
India has now officially started supply of Biodiesel made out of Used cooking oil. Used cooking oil includes vegetable oils, animal fats and waste cooking oil. Biodiesel is similar to Diesel but it is biodegradable.

A month ago there were 20 plants capable of producing Remdesivir in India, now there are 57. Remdesivir is the anti viral component of the Corona vaccines that will kill the virus.
