Double Your Income with Organic Farming! Govt to Give 90 Percent Subsidy

Amid the huge crisis over global market due to Coronavirus effect, the central government is planning to promote organic farming to boost Indian agriculture and commodity market into a self-dependent and self-sufficient mode. As per reports, the state government of Bihar is going to promote "organic farming" in all 38 districts where it’s going to sanction Rs 155 crore for developing "organic corridors" in 13 districts of the state, said Prem Kumar, Agriculture Minister of Bihar on 3rd March. After discussing the budgetary demand of Rs. 3,152.81 crore for the Department of Agriculture for the financial year 2020—21 in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Agriculture Minister Kumar said that after an approval of Rs. 155 crore, the state government will promote "organic farming" in all 38 districts of Bihar.

Grant will be given for Farming through Organic Method

"Organic Corridor" is being developed on both sides of the Ganges from Buxar to Bhagalpur district of the state, said the agriculture minister. Moreover, the Agriculture Minister added that organic certification work will be done in 21,000 acres during the year 2020–21.

As per reports, under the Horticultural Product Development Scheme that launched in 23 districts of the state, the farmers will be given 90 percent grant (up to Rs. 10 lakhs) for setting up the processing unit of the product so that farmers can directly market their produce by processing, packaging and branding it.

Bihar Received "Krishi Karman" Award

By implementing "agricultural design" across the state, Bihar has received the prestigious "Krishi Karman" award five times for its achievements in rice, wheat and maize production. The state government has started a "Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali" campaign and Rs 24,524 crore will be spent under it, says official reports. 

Status of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

The Agriculture Minister said that the government is committed to increasing the income of farmers. He said that under the "Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana", Rs 2,745.82 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of around 56 lakh farmers.

Rs. 11500/ Acre Subsidy for Organic Farming

under the Organic Farming Promotion Scheme, training will be given to the farmers and farmer advisors of the cluster at Bhagalpur Agricultural Office and the grant will be given by the government on farming through the organic method. As per reports, there is a provision of granting Rs 11500 per acre. As per reports, around 365 farmers from Sultanganj and Nathanagar cluster and farmer advisors of the respective panchayats will participate in the program.
