The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare granted Rs 68 lakh to seven agri-startups incubated at the Anand Agricultural University (AAU).

The grant was approved as part of the ministry's agribusiness incubator project, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) — Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation (RAFTAAR).

Several start-up initiatives are run by AAU, including Start-up Gujarat, Student Start-up and Innovation Policy, and RKVY-RAFTAAR, which has trained more than 80 start-ups.

AAU Vice Chancellor Dr. K. B. Kathiria gave the selected start-ups the grant's first instalment.

Honey Veda, Vinglob Greentech, Teaology, Chlorohemp Agrotech, Masabi Agritech, Piano Blossoms, and Upadhye Farmers Support Services are among the beneficiaries of the grant.

These agri-startups operate in a number of agricultural sectors, including waste to wealth, food processing, oil seed extraction, honey processing, manufacturing of farm machinery, and e-marketplaces for farmers.

Several university officials, including Dr. M. K. Jhala, director of research and dean of post-graduate studies, Dr. G. R. Patel, registrar, and Dr. Samit Dutta, dean, among others, attended the ceremony.
