It is said that if you rub the banana peel or skin on your face then it will brighten the skin and also reduce wrinkles. By putting the banana peel over your eyes will reduce puffiness. You may also use a banana skin as a moisturizer to hydrate your skin. Rubbing banana peel on acne or scars will help them become lighter.

Many people use banana peels as a hair mask. They say it makes hairs softer & shinier. Scrubbing your scalp with banana peel will make them strong and healthy. Hence it works as a natural hair mask

For whitening teeth

Ripe banana skins are very rich in potassium that can reduce the yellow stains on your teeth. Teeth turns yellow in colour due to consumption of certain beverages like tea or coffee, blueberries and raspberries. etc. So just brush your teeth and wash it well. Take the inside of the banana peel & rub it on your teeth for 3-4 minutes. Now wash your teeth again and repeat this for 1 week.

Treat migraines & headaches

If you are looking for a natural way to treat migraine or headache problem, then banana peel is the right thing. Just rub the banana peel all over your forehead, neck and back for 15 minutes.  Banana peel contains potassium, which helps in relieving from headache and migraine.

Used as first aid

The antimicrobial, antioxidant & anti-inflammatory properties in banana skin helps in treating sunburn, rashes, bug bite etc.  If you press the banana peel on the affected area it will provide relief from itching.

For household cleaning

Banana peels can be used for household cleaning like polishing and brightening of various things like leather shoes,  silverware etc.

Composting

Adding banana peels or skin to your compost heap will provide more calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, sulfur and phosphates - all of which are very important for the healthy growth of your plants. Just cut the banana peels into small pieces and bury them under the plant you want to fertilize. After that sprinkle water on the plant to let the soil sit on top of it.

Meat tenderizer

To keep your meat soft and tender, put some ripe banana peel to the roasting pan. In this way, you will ensure that your meat stays juicy and full of flavor. The banana skin works as a blanket for the meat or flesh - it keeps it cooking while also keeping the moisture from vaporizing.
