Krishi Jagran and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company launched BAGIC microsite on Krishi Jagran’s Hindi Portal on 12th August, 2021. A very informative webinar was conducted on this occasion to discuss how to Strengthen Crop Insurance through Digital Solutions on Krishi Jagran’s Facebook page.
The event was addressed by many dignitaries and was attended by several people. The event started with the MC Dominic, Editor in Chief of Krishi Jagran and Agriculture World, explaining how we came up with the idea to launch the Microsite. He elaborated how Digital platforms are the key interventions that influence farmers in current scenario.
Further, Suresh K Sethi, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Insurance Foundation of India and Founder Director of RIA Insurance Broker Pvt. Ltd., shared his wisdom on the insurance scenario in the country with a special focus on the rural areas. He appreciated Bajaj Allianz as well as Krishi Jagran for coming up with the novel idea of MICROSITE. He was confident that this initiative will help the farmers a lot.
Ashish Agrawal, Head Agribusiness & CSC, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company, helped us understand how technology is helping crop insurance sector. He said technology is deeply integrated in every single thing right from registering for PM Fasal Bima Yojana by linking Aadhar Card to transfer of the claim amount to farmer’s bank accounts.
Vipul Bansal, Administrative Officer, The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. shared how digitalization is important in the field of crop insurance especially for the small and marginal farmers of India.
Ravindra Sharma, Vertical Head - Projects and CX – Agri, spread light on the importance of crop insurance and how it is imperative to spread awareness about the insurance among the farming community as most of them are unaware of its benefits.
Lastly, Vote of thanks was conveyed by Chander Mohan, President Govt. Affairs, Krishi Jagran.
