50,000-tonne silo complex by NCML at Sonipat

The National Commodities Management Services (NCML) commissioned a public silo storage facility of 50,000 tonne capacity for wheat storage at Sonipat in Haryana. This was one of the 13 modern storage silo complexes being built by NCML at a cost of Rs 960 crore in Bihar, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in collaboration with the Food Corporation of India.

International Potash Institute conducted Facebook live on Polyhalite Fertilizer designed to increase Turmeric crop yield

International Potash Institute (IPI) conducted a live discussion on Krishi Jagran’s Facebook page about the benefits of wonderful fertilizer POLYHALITE, specifically for cultivation of Turmeric in India. The panel of the discussion consisted of Dr Adi Parelman, Agronomist, International Potash Institute Coordinator of India with extensive experience in plant breeding and plant physiology and Dr P.K. Karthikeyan, Assistant Professor (soil science), Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. The discussion focused on the study conducted by International Potash Institute in collaboration with Annamalai University in Erode district of Tamil Nadu.

NSAI and FSII reached a consensus on commercialization framework for new traits

The Seed Industry through NSAI and FSII reached a consensus on commercialization of framework for new traits for development of superior plant varieties which will benefit the farmers. Mr. Prabhakar Rao, President, NSAI said, “This framework ensures that interests of all parties including farmers are taken care of and we are happy that the main concerns of the small and medium companies regarding monopoly of trait leading to excessive trait pricing is fully addressed.

NSC CMD met with Secretary Agriculture Himachal Pradesh

National Seed Corporation CMD, Vinod Kumar Gaur met Himachal Pradesh Secretary Agriculture to discuss about opening a seed processing unit in Himachal Pradesh. A Memorandum of Understanding is yet to be signed.

Prof Malik has been appreciated for his outstanding contribution in several areas of Microbiology of both fundamental and applied values. He is a highly revered scientist in the field of Animal Biotechnology working in the area of Host-Pathogen Interaction, Evolution and Epidemiology of Viruses. He has authored 7 books and published 227 scientific research articles in peer reviewed journals of high impact factor.

WayCool Foods chalks out a growth plan with $100 mn investment

WayCool Foods, one of India’s fastest growing Agri supply chain start-ups, has chalked out an aggressive growth plan entailing over $100 million in technology, product development, facility expansion and new company acquisitions over the next four years. Karthik Jayaraman, CEO and Co-Founder of WayCool Foods & Products Private Limited said, “We have budgeted a capex outlay of $75 to 100 million for next four years, of which current year outlay will be around $20 million towards facility expansion, technology and select investments into similar companies.
