ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (NBFGR) is inviting candidates for an interview for the positions of Consultant, Jr. Consultant, Young Professional-I & II, Project Associate-I, & Technical Assistant on a contractual basis under different projects at Lucknow. Here are the details:

Qualifications  and Eligibility

Project: "National Surveillance Programme for Aquatic Animal Diseases (NSPAAD)" NFAADIRD

Consultant: 1 post

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or Microbiology, or a Master's degree in a related field with a 4/5-year bachelor's degree. 

  • First division or 60% marks or equivalent overall OGPA, along with at least 3 years of research experience, evidenced by fellowship, associateship, or training.

  • Preferred qualifications include experience in molecular diagnostics and publications in relevant peer-reviewed international journals.

Jr. Consultant: 1 post

  • Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Science (4 years) or a Master's degree in Life Sciences.

  • Experience, training, or publications in aquatic animal health.

Project: "All India Network Project on Fish Health"

Young Professional-II: 1 post

  • Master's degree in Fisheries Science with specialization in Aquaculture/Aquatic Animal Health Management/Fish Pathology and Microbiology/Biotechnology or related fields, or Master's degree in Life Sciences with two years of research experience in Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology. 

  • Research publications in peer-reviewed international journals in fish health and field experience in aquaculture management.

Project: CRP-Agrobiodiversity Project

Young Professional-I: 1 post

  • Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) degree with at least a 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average.

  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in fish breeding, larval rearing, aquaculture, and pond management.

Project: "Diving Down the Deep: Exploring the Deep-Sea ichthyo-Faunal Resources of Indian Waters for Sustainable Utilization – A Multidisciplinary Approach"

Project Associate-I: 1 post

  • M.F.Sc. degree with specialization in fisheries resource management, fish genetics and breeding, fish biotechnology, aquatic animal health, or fish pathology and microbiology. Or

  • M.Sc. in marine biology, ocean science and technology, zoology, biological sciences, or life sciences is acceptable. 

  • Working knowledge in integrative fish taxonomy, fish cell culture, and molecular techniques, along with field experience in marine exploration and documentation or onboard experience.

  • Research publications in peer-reviewed international journals are preferred.

Technical Assistant: 1 post

  • B.F.Sc or B.Sc in zoology, B.Voc in aquaculture or biotechnology, or a B.E/B.Tech in bioinformatics or computer science. 

  • Experience in fish sampling and basic laboratory work, as well as working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office, CorelDraw, and Photoshop.

Age Limit

  • Consultant: 35 Yrs. for males and 40 years for females

  • Jr. Consultant: 35 Yrs. for males and 40 years for females

  • Young Professional-I: Min. 21 Yrs. and max. 45 Yrs.

  • Young Professional-II: Min. 21 Yrs. and max. 45 Yrs.

  • Project Associate-I: Max. 35 yrs.

  • Technical Assistant: Max. 50 yrs.

Monthly Remuneration 

  • Consultant: Rs. 50,000/-fixed 

  • Jr. Consultant: Rs. 30,000/-fixed

  • Young Professional-I: Rs. 30,000/-fixed

  • Young Professional-II: Rs. 42,000/-fixed

  • Project Associate-I: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA 

  • Technical Assistant: Rs. 20,000/- + HRA 

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be selected based on their academic performance, research experience, and performance during the interview.
