Bank holidays in May 2022: According to the Reserve Bank of India's list of holidays, banks will be suspended for a total of 11 days in May, along with weekends (RBI). These include four festival holidays, as well as Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays. It is important to know that internet banking services will be available even on holidays.

Under the Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, Negotiable Instruments Act, and Banks' Closing of Accounts, the RBI divides the holidays into national and regional categories. Many holidays are region-specific, and they might differ from state to state as well as bank to bank. 

On the occasions of Eid-Ul-Fitr and Buddha Purnima, there will be two long weekends in the following month, with banks remaining closed for three days at a time.

Customers are advised to finish their bank-related work beforehand to avoid any inconvenience. 

Mentioned below is the state-wise detailed list of Bank Holidays for you to check out

May 1st (Sunday): Banks will remain closed on this day due to the weekend.

May 2nd (Monday): Banks will remain shut in the state of Kerala and Tamil Nadu due to the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.

May 3rd (Tuesday): On the occasion of Shree Parshuram Jayanti and Eid-Ul-Fitra, banks will remain shut all over India with the exception of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

May 8th (Sunday): Due to Sunday, banks will remain shut in all states.

May 9th (Monday): On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, banks will be closed in West Bengal.

May 14th (Saturday): Banks will remain closed all over India because of Second Saturday.

May 15th (Sunday): Banks to remain close due to Sunday in all states.

May 22nd (Sunday): All over India, banks will remain close.

May 28th (Saturday): Due to the fourth Saturday of the month, banks will be shut in all of the states.

May 29th (Sunday): Due to Sunday, banks will remain shut all over India.
