Bank Holidays in October: Banks to Remain Closed for 7 Days in the Coming Week!

The month of October will observe 21 bank holidays with the first holidays but the bank services will still be accessible through ATMs, cash deposits, online banking, and mobile banking.

A list of bank holidays for the month of October has been released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The list indicates that all Indian banks would be closed for 21 days in October, including the weekends.

Therefore, customers should review the list of holidays below before visiting their local branches for any work. There are several holidays on the list that only apply to certain states and might include Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays as well.

However, customers shouldn't worry because online internet banking services will be available as usual even though banks will be closed for 21 days. Customers won't be able to physically deposit or take money from the bank, but they can still use the other internet services without any inconvenience.

We have listed below the bank holidays for the coming week of October.

Bank Holidays in October 2022 (1 to 7 October)

October 1: Half Yearly Closing of Bank Accounts [Gangtok]

October 2: Sunday & Gandhi Jayanti Holiday

October 3: Durga Puja (Maha Ashtami) [Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Imphal, Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi]

October 4: Durga Puja/Dussehra (Maha Navami)/Ayudha pooja/Janmotsav of Srimanta Sankardeva [Agartala, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong, and Thiruvananthapuram]

October 5: Durga Puja/Dussehra (Vijaya Dashmi)/Janmotsav of Srimanta Sankardeva

October 6: Durga Puja (Dashain) [Gangtok]

October 7: Durga Puja (Dashain) [Gangtok]
