Bank Holidays List: Banks Will Remain Closed For 4 Days This Week; Details Here

Due to the numerous festivals this week, Banks will remain closed from April 14 to April 17. Bank holidays vary by state, although there are several days when banks are closed throughout India.

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday schedule, banks will be closed in most parts of the country beginning today (14 April) until April 17th due to numerous festivities. The Negotiable Instruments Act has declared these holidays. Bank holidays vary by state, although there are several days when banks are closed throughout India.

Bank Holiday on 14 April, Thursday

Numerous festivities are falling on 14 April- Dr. B. R.  Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Baisakhi/Vaisakhi, Tamil New Year's Day, Cheiraoba, Biju Festival, and Bohag Bihu.

Banks will remain shut in these cities- Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram.

Note- Banks only in the states of Himachal Pradesh and Meghalaya will remain open. 

Banks to remain closed on April 15 (Friday)

There are numerous festivities on this day as well including Good Friday, Vishu, Bohag Bihu, Bengali New Year's Day, and Himachal Day.

Banks will remain close all across India except in Jammu, Srinagar, and Rajasthan. 

Bank Holiday on 16 (Saturday)

Banks will remain closed due to Boha Bihu in Guwahati. 

Bank Holiday on April 17th (Sunday)

All banks remain shut on Sundays. 

Banks will also be suspended on April 21 and April 29 for Garia Puja and Shab-I-Qadr/Jumat-ul-Vida, respectively. Banks will be closed on April 23, which is a Saturday, and April 24, which is a Sunday. On the first and third Saturdays of each month, banks are normally open.
