On Sunday, the farmers' demonstration at the Singhu and Tikri borders reached its 150th day. “Our demonstration exemplifies solidarity and dedication to a just cause. The Centre attempted a variety of methods to discredit the strike, but farmers have stood firm for the past 150 days.

“They will not back down until the three farm laws are repealed,” said Pargat Singh, a BKU official (Rajewal).

Other leaders of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) said that farmers had already won the ethical and moral fight by peacefully protesting for five months. “The win will be complete if the Centre repeals the three farm laws and guarantees legal protection for the MSP,” said SKM chief Dr Darshan Pal.

Farmers had already opened one side of the road for emergency services and cleaned it today, according to another SKM chief, Balbir Singh Rajewal, but the Delhi Police had not yet cleared barricades placed up in response to the rising Covid incidents.

Meanwhile, officials attempted to reopen toll plazas on the KMP expressway today.
