Kamal Nath, the state Congress president, accused the state government of humiliating and harassing farmers on Friday. Kamal Nath took to Twitter to allege that lakhs of farmers are being denied access to the Prime Minister's Kisan Samman Nidhi, a central scheme that provides each farmer with Rs 6,000 per year.

The state contributes Rs 4,000 to the Centre's grant for each farmer, totaling a Rs 10,000 honorarium for each farmer.

“The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government, which has been deceiving the people of the state with fictitious issues, has opened a front against farmers,” @OfficeOfKNath said, adding “There are thousands, even lakhs of farmers in the state who are still deprived of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Despite being eligible, these farmers are not getting the benefit of the scheme.”

Farmers who are benefiting from the arrangement, according to Nath, are being served notices and the government is recovering the money they paid.

He claimed that since the BJP government ended the former Congress government's loan waiver scheme, the amount of wheat and gram purchased by the state from farmers has reduced as well.

Nath stated that the government is forcing farmers to fight for every paisa at a time when they need money for marriage and other expenses.

About PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana:

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan Yojana) is a government scheme that provides up to Rs 6,000 per year in minimum income support to all small and marginal farmers. This 75,000-crore scheme will benefit 125 million farmers in India, regardless of their landholding size.

The Prime Minister's Kisan Yojana took effect on December 1, 2018. It was launched by prime minister Narendra Modi-led government.

All eligible farmer households across the country receive annual income support of Rs 6000 in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months under the PM Kisan Yojana. The scheme classifies a family as consisting of a husband, wife, and minor children. The Rs 2,000 is instantly transferred to the farmer’s family's bank accounts.
