MUSHCONS – 2021, International Mushroom Festival Commences from 18th October

In recent times, there has been a huge inclination of the farmers of India towards Mushroom cultivation. It is seen as a means of increasing the income of farmers while giving good returns at low cost. Meanwhile, MUSHCON, International Mushroom Festival is being celebrated in the town of Haridwar, Uttarakhand from 18th to 20th October.

In recent times, there has been a huge inclination of the farmers of India towards Mushroom cultivation. It is seen as a means of increasing the income of farmers while giving good returns at low cost. Meanwhile, MUSHCON, International Mushroom Festival is being celebrated in the town of Haridwar, Uttarakhand from 18th to 20th October. Krishi Jagran is the official media partner of this event

During this festival, mushrooms will be discussed elaborately as food, culinary and medicine. The prime motive of organizing the fest is to educate about the benefits of mushrooms and generate interest for developing the supply chain of Mushrooms. Many experts from India and abroad will give expert advice. 

Farmers can earn good profits by making changes in the cultivation of oyster mushrooms throughout the year. The production, demand, farming status of mushrooms in India and the world will be discussed. The Netherlands model of mushroom cultivation and farmers' experience will also be explained. 

Along with this, with the slogan “Khumb – Har Dwar which translates to   “Mushroom-At Doors”, the supply chain of mushrooms in Uttarakhand is to be promoted.  Many experts from USA, Japan, Netherlands, Bhutan, Thailand, Vietnam will join the festival online.  

Attendees will learn how to identify a wide variety of mushrooms and wild food, including some of the more notable varieties like those that are exclusive of state, which includes the highly prized mushroom Cordyceps militaris. 

The event was addressed by Chief Guest, Subodh UniyalUttarkhand’s Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare Minister as well as Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister Uttarakhand among other dignitaries.
